This time of year, many children are still in school, spending most of their days indoors.
I remember looking out of the classroom windows, longing to be out there taking in the
fresh air, and discovering the flowers coming up from their long winter under ground.
Fortunately, there are so many options for indoor play and learning
to keep young minds & bodies strong and engaged.
However, there is no substitute for a nice family walk in the park !
I would encourage everyone to take advantage of their local parks and hiking trails,
most of which are free, and don’t require a long drive to get to.
My favorite park here in South Florida is called Pecks Lake.
It features a long boardwalk trail through undisturbed natural Florida fauna,
with informative kiosks. The easy to walk trail ends by the lake,
with a huge, beautiful tiki hut where you can sit and enjoy a packed lunch !
